Texel, March 11, 2019 – The new sports and music festival WAVES, of two-time Olympic windsurfing champion Dorian van Rijsselberghe, has added five artists to the line-up of the musical program. The Dirty Daddies, EUT, Splendid, Rilan & The Bombardiers and Kita Menari will be performing at the beach of Paal 17 Texel in June. Earlier Wulf, La Pegatina, RONDÉ and Jeangu Macrooy were announced to perform at the Texel festival.
With The Dirty Daddies, WAVES gets the country’s best-known and most energetic party cover band that last year sold out their own AFAS Live show. As one of the largest talent bands in the Netherlands, EUT is currently working hard in its own country and in Europe. The Hague reggae band Splendid leaves the sun shining with their summervibes for years! At a later stage, more artists will be added to the program.
IFCA Foil Grand Prix windsurfing
In addition to the musical program WAVES has several sporting elements, including the IFCA Foil Grand Prix windsurfing, various kite disciplines and the 42nd edition of the Ronde om Texel.
Festival director Van Rijsselberghe: “Besides the addition of several artists, the registration for the Foil Grand Prix windsurfing has been opened and of course I am also surfing. I have challenged my windsurfing friends around the world to come to Texel and participate. ”
100 more days
Van Rijsselberghe continues: “In about 100 days it is finally happening, a unique festival in the Netherlands, in which we combine top water sports with recreational sports, music and activities for people who love the outdoors”.
Apart from the IFCA Foil Grand Prix, festival visitors can take part in various sports disciplines and clinics. For the 42nd edition of the Ronde om Texel, the registrations will commence on Friday, March 15th.
